SNIF Tag Adventures – Part 4

>   SNIF Tag  —  anya  @  7:17 am

Thanks for tuning in to read the 4th installment of Oscar’s SNIF Tag adventures.  If you missed Parts 1, 2 and 3 catch up here!

Today I’m going to share a few other cool things about the activity history feature that didn’t make it into my previous posts.

One cool thing is that the SNIF Tag knows whether or not your dog is within range of the Base Station, so it assumes that he’s outside whenever he’s out of range and inside when he’s within range.  It’s easy to see this in the activity history data by the “inside” and “outside” backgrounds on the cartoons for the activity state…

Another cool activity feature is the compare functionality – you can use this to compare your dog’s activity to that of another dog or group of dogs.  So, I can compare Oscar’s activity with one of his friends – here’s Oscar’s activity so far today vs. his friend Westley!!

Westley is a very energetic puppy, so as you can see…he’s kicking Oscar’s butt!  Lots more high activity than lazy ol’ Oscy.  :)   I can’t wait until there are more Brussels Griffons and dogs in my neighborhood with SNIF Tags because then I’ll be able to see how Oscar measures up against his breed or other West Village dogs, as a whole.

Back to activity histoy…I also really like that it’s so easy to navigate around the activity history pages.  You can drill down on a day or hour for more specific information or use a calendar to select a specific date.  Here’s a view of some of Oscar’s monthly activity data for the month of November…

Notice the yellow and blue bars on the bottom?  Those are other dogs with SNIF Tags that Oscar met on those days!!  I know…all the cool activity data AND social networking too??  Yup.  But, more about the SNIF Tag and social networking in the next post…Oscar and I are going to go for a jog so that we can try to catch up to Westley!!
