SNIF Tag Adventures – Part 5

>   SNIF Tag  —  anya  @  9:46 pm

Thanks for tuning in to read the 5th installment of Oscar’s SNIF Tag adventures.  If you missed Parts 1, 2, 3 and 4, catch up here and find out about all of the cool ways that you can learn about your dog’s activity.

Now I’m going to switch gears and talk about the Social Networking features of the SNIF Tag. In addition to granting you a dog’s eye view into what your pooch does all day, the SNIF Tag also helps you connect with your local dog owning community. In my last post, I showed you this view of Oscar’s monthly activity…

On each activity screen, you can also see who your dog encountered and when they met. Each time your dog meets another dog with a SNIF Tag, that encounter is logged on his Tag as an Acquaintance and uploaded to his web profile. Then if you want, you can invite those Acquaintances to be your Friends. Friends can send each other messages, share photo albums, post on each other’s walls, etc.

On the example of Oscar’s data, you can see that his Friends show up in the yellow bars and Acquaintances are in the blue bars.

Here’s a screenshot showing some of the SNIF Tag Community features…

It’s like Facebook for dog owners, except it also helps you connect with NEW people based on real-life encounters. You can also meet like-minded dog owners through Groups based on your zip code and dog’s breed.

You are in complete control of your privacy settings, so you can decide exactly what information you want to share with Friends, Acquaintances and Strangers.

Personally, the activity features of the SNIF Tag are much more important to me, but it has been surprisingly fun to meet new people through the SNIF Tag. Oscar even has one celebrity dog friend…but you’ll have to become Friends with Oscar to find out who that is!!!  :)

So, there you have it…a quick overview of some of the fun things you and your dog can do with the SNIF Tag. If you have any questions, feel free to leave a comment or email me at nycblog@sniflabs.com!
