This week we officially launched the SNIF Tag!

The initial reaction to our launch by the press and public has been incredible.  We have received some terrific mentions in the technology and mainstream press.   We were featured on Gizmodo, Ohgizmo, engadget, and gizmag.  A number of other outlets have already written about us including technology news publication TMC.net and the Boston Globe.  We love the photo!

There have been number of recent video postings, but we would especially like to highlight the video of Dr. Amy R. Marder, from the Animal Rescue League in Boston, and the clip that appears on The Doctor’s Channel that was filmed at the Pet Fashion Week Show in New York.

We’re a close team at SNIF and we’ve all worked hard to bring the SNIF Tag to the market. It’s a new and unique product that brings together a range of technologies to change the way dog owners interact with their dogs as well as other dog owners.  It’s a really exciting time and we’d like to thank everyone who has supported us to date - partners, beta testers, friends, families.

Oscar and I hope to see you on Saturday!!

Oscar began his career as a professional dog model this past weekend!  It’s not quite as glamorous as it sounds…he was modeling the product that my company makes and he got paid in treats, but we’ve all go to start somewhere, right?

So, Oscar’s spokesdog gig was at Pet Fashion Week in NYC (which actually should be called ‘Pet Fashion Weekend‘ because it was just Saturday and Sunday.  Anyway, here’s a picture of Oscar and his buddy, Chopper, modeling their SNIF Tags…

What a handsome pair!!  So, you might be wondering…what is the SNIF Tag?  Well, I’m glad you asked!  The SNIF Tag is a stylish accessory that tracks your dog’s activity and allows you to remotely monitor what your four-legged companion is doing.  It also has a built in social-networking functionality that logs encounters with other Tag owners and connects them online.

So basically, the SNIF Tag allows you to see what your dog is doing while you’re away from him and meet other dog owners in your neighborhood.  Pretty cool, right?

The Tag is scheduled to be available in stores and online later this fall.  As we get closer to the launch, I’ll occasionally share some fun stories about how the SNIF Tag has helped us meet people in our neighborhood, learn about Oscar’s activity level and basically just help us stay even MORE connected to our pooch.  But I don’t want to taunt you with these cool stories now, because you can’t get it yet!!   Don’t worry, fall is just around the corner…
